He knows he is guilty. What Mr Kennings his master has said is true. He did get in the house by the lower window - the kitchen window. He tried the top one but could not open it. He took all the things he said except the money and handkerchiefs. He took only 3s 6d in half pence and pennies and 6d worth of farthings, and 4s out of the box in the room in which he used to sleep, and four silk handkerchiefs. He took the donkey, road him away and left him on the road when he got to Eaton. He took the spade and he had the bag in his pocket the day before he left Mr Kennings. He took the meat and the cake and the whip - that is all. He threw the whip into the river. He sold the handkerchiefs to a man who travels with a pack who he met in the road. He does not know who he is.
