- Scope and ContentBy an order bearing the date 16 October 1820 Benjamin Attack of St Mary, Bedford was adjudged to be the reputed father of a male bastard child born of Ann Stocks, singlewoman in St Cuthbert. It was and is by such order ordered that Benjamin Attack should pay the Overseers & Churchwardens of St John 2 shillings weekly from the time of making the order for and towards the maintenance of the said child for and during so long a time as the child should be chargeable to the parish. Benjamin Attack hath had duie notice of the said order and no appeal hath been made. The said weekly sum hath not been paid for a long time and there is now due one pound seven shillings. Demand of payment hath been made but Benjamin Attack hath made default in payment. William Chapman prayeth justice.
