  • Scope and Content
I am 43 years of age. When I was about 20 years old I was married at Biddenham to my late husband George Newman of St Paul, servant. I have often heard my husband say he was born in Woodstock in the County of Oxford and belonged there he having a birth of settlement in that town. To the best of my knowledge and belief he never gained a settlement in his own right either before or subsequent to my marriage. I have two children by him namely John aged fifteen years born in St Paul, Bedford and Thomas aged seven years born in Biddenham, neither of whom have gained settlement in their own right. My late husband died about seven years ago. In November 1828 I was married at St Paul to Thomas Hinde who has not gained any settlement since my marriage, nor did I gain any settlement from the time of the decease of my former husband George Newman to my said marriage in 1828.
