I am about 21 years of age, was born in the parish of St Clement Danes, Strand in the City of Westminster where my father Ellis Hobday then resided and belonged. By an instrument bearing date 1 September 1826 under the hands and seals of Henry Bolton and myself but without stamp, I bound myself as an apprentice to Mr Henry Bolton of St Paul, Bedford for seven years. I have served my said Master under that instrument from the date thereof to the present time in the parish of St Paul and was married on Sunday the fifth July 1829 at St Paul to Ann Kent.
