  • Scope and Content
My maiden name was Hannah Sergeant. I am about 43 years of age, was married 19 years ago last Christmas at the parish church of St Paul, Bedford to my late husband William Bannister, clockmaker, by whom I have 7 children, namely Sarah aged 18 years, John aged 16 years, William & Mary (twins) aged 12 years, Robert aged 9 years, Elizabeth aged 5 years and Dinah aged 1 year and a half, all of whom were born in the parish of St paul. My husband died on the 15th of March instant. From the time of my marriage until the present time I have resided in the said parish of St Paul and during the last two years of such residence my husband received relief from the parish of Olney in Buckinghamshire where I have heard and believe that he was born. And since our marriage he hath not to my knowledge gained any settlement, and I do not know or believe that he had any other settlement than in the said parish of Olney. My husband was ill and confined to his bed 23 or 24 weeks before his death.
