- Scope and ContentSamuel Patrick of Northill, yeoman - he occupies land adjoining some occupied by Robert Brunt. On Monday 24 August he left the wheat which had grown on his land set up in stocks of 12 sheaves each. The next morning he found three sheaves had been taken from one stock, two from another, and two more from a third. James Wagstaff of Northill, labourer - on Tuesday morning he was in the field where Patrick's harvest is, and about 5.30 or 6am Robert Brunt came into the field. he saw Brunt take a sheaf of wheat from Patrick's land and carry it to his own. He later saw him put it into his cart and cover it over with some beans. He came back gleaning for sometime and then took the cart home. Robert Brunt - he did not take any but what grew on his own land.
