- Scope and ContentI am 23 years of age, was born in the parish of St Paul in the said town where my father resided and belonged. When about 14 years of age I was apprenticed by the trustees of the Bedford Charity to John Crowfoot of Eynesbury, County of Huntingdon, shoemaker for 7 years by Indenture dated 10 October 1820. I served him 5 weeks when he failed. I then returned to my father Samuel Lane of St Pauls, Bedford, shoemaker and remained with him until my time was half up when I was assigned by the said John Crowfoot with the consent of the trustees of the Bedford Charity to Jacob Munsey of Biggleswade, shoemaker. I served him about six months, and then ran away. I have done no act to gain a subsequent settlement. I was married last September at St Cuthbert, Bedford to Agusta Robinson.
