- Scope and ContentI am about 62 years of age. I was born at Marston Moretaine in the County of Bedford. His father and mother were travelling the country at that time and she was delivered of him at Marston. I do not know if they were married. I suppose not, or they would not have told me that Marston was my parish. I have never received relief from that parish or applied for any. I have not done any act to gain a settlement in my own right to the best of my knowledge. My father died and was buried at Cranfield, Beds about 40 years ago. I have six children by Ann Macmanus, singlewoman, namely William aged 24 years born at Market Harborough in the County of Leicester, now living in London; Ann aged 22 born at Exeter in the County of Devon in service at London; John aged 20 a soldier born at Weedon , Northamptonshire; James aged 18 years born at Littlehampton in Sussex now living at Bedford; Elizabeth aged 15 born in Ireland in service at Cambridge and Eleanor aged 12 now living with me.
