- Scope and ContentAabout 31 years of age, born in St Mary, Bedford where my father resided and belonged. When about 14 years of age I was apprenticed by the Trustees of the Bedford Charity to John Price Rowlatt of Potton, glover and breeches maker by Indenture having date 9th October 1810. I served him about 5 years. My Master and I quarrelled and I ran away. When about 25 years of age I was married at Elstow to Sophia Deacon, by whom I have four children viz Mary aged 7 years, Catherine aged 5 years, Ann aged 3 years and an infant not yet baptised. I have never done any other act to gain a settlement subsequently to my leaving Potton. When my wife was confined with her first child I received relief from the Parish Officers of Potton.
