  • Scope and Content
I am about 51 years of age. Born in Huntingdon where my father belonged but I do not know in what parish. When I was about 14 years of age I was placed out apprentice by Indenture to John Hall, Woodhurst, County of Huntingdon, shoemaker for seven years. I signed the Indenture and there was a seal to it. I served my Master John Hall for four years when we disagreed and it was determined between us that if I gave my Master two guineas he would give me up my Indentures. i did so and received the Indentures but i do not know what is become of them. I then worked as a journeyman shoemaker at Kings Rippon and other places for about two years when I enetered for a soldier into the Marines and continued in that service about five years. i then worked at my trade for about ten years when I enlisted into the 64th Regiment of Foot and remained in that Regiment for about 13 years until about 4 or 5 years ago when I was discharged. I have never done any other act to gain a settlement to the best of my knowledge by remting a house or serving as Constable or any other annual office.
