I am sixty two years of age, was born in Finedon, County of Northampton where my father John Corby then resided but belonged to Bozeat and had a certificate of his settlement of that parish by being owner of houses and land there. My father taught me the trade of smith and died when I was about 20. I have worked as a journeyman smith in the town of Bedford for near 40 years but have not done any act in my own right to gain a settlement. I was relieved by the Parish Officers of Bozeat about 20 years ago being afflicted with rheumatic fever. i was removed from Bedford by orders to Bozeat and when I got better one of the Overseers of the poor of Bozeat returned with me to Bedford and settled wekly allowance on me. I have since been relieved by the Parish Offiers of Bozeat and last winter I received of them one pound seven shillings. I was married about 30 years ago at St Paul to [blank] who died last michaelmas - by her I have one daughter living who has obtained a settlement in the parish of Cardington. Not signed or dated.
