- Scope and ContentHenry Gamble, police constable - he was on duty at Biggleswade the previous day when there was a fight at about 7pm which he and the other constables tried to prevent. They were much interrupted by the mob who swore at them. Andrew How was active in the mob, prevented them stopping the fight, pushed them about and prevented him arresting the men who were fighting. Thomas Hickman - was at Biggleswade Races on the previous Friday. There was a fight - the police tried to stop it and the mob tried to keept the police off. One of the mob named Joseph Dunton was taken into custody by Gamble and some other policeman. Andrew How was present and was at the front of the mob in trying to get Dunton away from the police. He laid hold of the back of How's collar and gave him into custody.
