- Scope and ContentWilliam Wheley Desborough: a famer of Thurleigh. On 25 September he was at Bedford Race Course, at Elstow. He felt his pocket move and when he felt, his handkerchief was gone. He turned round and saw the prisoner with it in his hand. William Byers Graham: He was on duty at the race course. He took the prisoner into his custody. The prisoner at first said he had bought the handkerchief but later confessed to taking it.
