- Scope and ContentThomas Twitchell: the prisoner had worked for him for some years. There was a quantity of wheat in his barn on 8 June. A few days later the accused asked Twitchell to sell him some wheat. Childs told the wheat on 25 June. He sold the accused 5 bushels of wheat, the value of 23 shillings. From information Twitchell received on 29 June he discovered the accused had taken all the wheat from his barn. He accused the prisoner of taking 1 and a half bushel of wheat more than he had purchased. Childs confessed he had taken more than he should. David Roberts: on 25 June the prisoner asked him to help him lift up a sack of wheat on to a wagon. He then asked him if the master was at home. He then took the second sack. Stephen Webb: worked as a labourer for Mr Twitchell. There were 6 bushels and half a tail of wheat in 2 sacks. There were about 5 bushels in one sack and a bushel and half in the other.
