    James Allen: just before 4am he saw 2 men in his master's yard. They went to the stable and shut the door. About 10 minutes later he went o the stable. the men had gone and so had 2 of his smock frocks. He then passed on the description of the men to William Pinner and returned to the farm. The accused are the same men he saw go into the stable. William Pinner: works for Mr Doggett of Newnham. Around half past four he was going to work and met James Allen, who described the man to him. Soon after he saw the men and followed them and took them into custody. The accused palmer was carrying the bundle which when opened contained the 2 smock frocks. Taylor's bundle contained a waistcoat and smock frock.
