  • Scope and Content
    Charles Chessum: he was set to watch the bank (near the garden of William Norman). Next morning Norman came and helped him search for the money. They found 4 sovereigns and a half sovereign. William Norman: worked as a coachman for John Nathaniel Foster of Biggleswade. He was tending his garden when he received information that the prisoner Hall had hidden something in the bank. Soon after hall came and asked for a smoke of Norman's pipe. Norman gave it to him but refused his requested to go and buy some beer with some silver he had produced. He went away and Norman checked the bank but it looked undisturbed. Hall had been very drunk. The next day he found Charles Chessum watching the bank. They searched the bank. Norman picked up 14 gold sovereigns and 8 half sovereigns.
