- Scope and ContentCharles Smith: game keeper to William Manning. On 6 April he saw the accused enter William Manning's field and went to the stacks of faggots. They each took some faggots and threw them over to Mr Newman's field. They then put them on their shoulders and walked away. Smith called to them and they threw down their bundles. He went to Mr Mannings and they retrieved the bundles. George Mires: Charles Smith came to his master's house with a bundle of wood and Mr Robert Manning brought another. He took charge of the bundle.
