- Scope and ContentHe saw John Cooke, Mayor and Francis Green, two of the Justices of the Peace for Bedford, sign and seal orders of removal dated 16 March 1819 whereby William Messer, Eleanor his wife and their two children were ordered to be removed from St John, Bedford to St Pauls Walden, County of Hertford. On 21 May 1819 in pursuance of f such orders he conveyed William Messer, Eleanor his wife and their two children from St John, Bedford to St Pauls Walden, and there delivered them with one of the said orders of removal to Mr Pilgrim one of the Overseers of the poor atf Pauls Warden who then paid to this Examinant six pounds fifteen shillings for lying in and other expenses due to the parish of St John and there has been no appeal against the said orders.
