Anne Willoughby, wife of William Knight Willoughby of Dunstable, painter - on Tuesday 24th just before 5pm there were 4 shirts of her son's (who is about 15 years old) washed and hung up to dry in the yard of her house. About 10 minutes later two of them were gone. The shirts are valued at 10s or more. Jepson called at her house about 4pm and said he wanted to see her husband, who was not at home. He said he would call again, but did not. John Willoughby, son of William Knight Willoughby - about 4pm on Tuesday Abraham Jepson came into his father's shop and asked if he was at home. He told Jepson his father was out at work. Jepson then asked if his mother was at home - he said she was in the yard and Jepson went to her. He went out of the yard and said he would call again. About 5pm he was sent for some milk. As he went down the yard he saw his four shirts hanging on a line. On his return as he came into the yard he met Jepson coming out with something white rolled up in his left hand, as large as two of his shirts would be rolled together. Jepson asked if his father was home yet and he said no. Abraham Jepson - knows nothing at all about the shirts. He had nothing white in his hand when he came out of the yard the second time.
