- Scope and ContentGeorge Goodship of Southill, labourer - he works for Mr Ladds who lives in Southill. On December 6 he and the rest of the men were getting their breakfast in the field and were jumping about to keep themselves warm. The boy Charles Crouch was one of them. He said if they jumped on his toes he would stab them. A few minutes later Crouch ran his knife into his arm. It bled very much - he went home and then went to Mr Layman's at Shefford. James Layman of Shefford, surgeon - George Goodship had a very deep wound in his right arm near the shoulder made with teh point of a sharp instrument. Charles Crouch - they were all after him and running him about the field and kept jumping on his toes and making him drop his victuals. he told them that if they did not keep away he would [prick?] them.
