- Scope and ContentWilliam Kemp: kept a draper's shop at Sandy. The garment was lying on the counter with others. The accused came in with 3 others. They stayed about 10 minutes. As they moved away he though the prisoner may have something up his coat. The frock was missed. On searching neither the prisoner nor his companions had the garment on them. Elizabeth Kemp: was in her husband's shop when the 4 men came in. One of them purchased some braces. Norman Snoxell: later went with Mr Kemp's son to the railway bridge, where they found the prisoner with the garment. The claimed his wife had bought it on the road to Blunham.Statement of the accused - stated his wife bought the frock on the way home form Blunham from 2 men. he would not have worn the frock if he had stolen it.
