    Thomas Thorogood: was in the Fox public house, run by John Ireland. Thomas Pestell, who was Ostler there, came in and told him he had 2 more fowls for him. He went with him to the path at the back of the Fox, near Mr Gregory’s brick kiln. Pestell told him it was Mr Ireland’s fowl and he would kill some more if he would have them. Thorogood agreed and sold this fowl to Thomas Strange. Thomas Strange: bough the 2 fowls from Thomas Thorogood. James Smith: he received information that Thomas Strange had bought 2 fowl from Thomas Thorogood, and retrieved one of them from Strange's wife. The other had been sold on. John Ireland: Thomas Pestell had been in his employed for 8 days, and he lost 6 or 7 fowl in that time.
