    William Clay: took the accused Samuel Johnson into custody. On searching him he found a counterfeit half a crown, 2 good Shillings, some tobacco and a pipe. William Edwards: assisted in taking Samuel Johnson into custody and was present when he was searched. William Ralph Young: was given the counterfeit half crown by Mrs Ashpool. Lucy Philips: the prisoners took ale together at her house. They asked her about holidays and she advised them it was a market day of statue at Leighton Buzzard. On leaving they proceeded towards Leighton Buzzard.
