Deposition of Zachariah Aires of Luton, labourer - William Biggs charged with stealing oats

He is in the service of the Marquess of Bute. Last Wednesday 4 December he sent William Bigg into the barn to put up 10 quarters of oats which he had sold the Edward Taylor the previous Monday. Biggs put it up in 3 panels - 7 sacks in each of the two front panels. There were over 20 quarters in the barn ready dressed. One of the samples now produced is from the oats left in the barn and it appears the same quality as the oats found in the sack.
