  • Scope and Content
He is bailiff to Mrs Elizabeth Gregory of Luton. She keeps fowls in a yard opposite the farm, where there is a hen house which is part boarded in front. The fowls were there on Monday night and he locked the gate about 8pm. On Tuesday morning he found the boards in the front of the henhouse broken, the door locked and the fowls gone. He knows George Mead who worked for Mrs Gregory for a considerable time. The hole in the boards was large enough to admit a man.
