- Scope and ContentWilliam Islip: stated the handkerchiefs were his and had been stolen from his premises. Mary Cook: was charwoman to Islip, and had washed the handkerchief and hung them outside to dry. The accused later came to the door and asked for money, which he wasn't given. Mary Cook later discovered the handkerchiefs gone. Frederick King, police constable: went in search William Chandler and he found him in a cart, outside the Fox and Hounds in St Neots. On searching him he found the handkerchiefs, which were still damp.
