David Brown came along and pulled him from her. She went home and on nearing the door, Charlotte bailey leaned out of her window, and she told her what had happened. On going to the window she saw Mary and could tell she had been crying and her frock and cape where torn. Mary told her what had happened. Gilbert Daisley: the following morning he was told by his daughter Mary what William Lenton had done the night before. David Brown: Sandy Feast was on the first Monday after St Swithin's day. He was returning when he heard a woman crying out "Murder". I turned toward the shout and saw a man with a woman in a ditch. He was lying on her and she was crying out "Murder" continually. He took the man by the collar and pulled him off her. He did not know the man.
