- Scope and ContentI am about 34 years of age. Born at Thurleigh where my fatehr Israel Haines, labourer, resided and belonged. I was married 1 August 1812 at Thurleigh to John Goss. I have not any children. My husband left me about ten or eleven years ago, I have not lived with him since. I have heard him repeatedly say his settlement was at Alconbury in the County of Huntingdon, gained by service. i was told about five or six years ago by the Master of Colmworth Mill where my husband was waggoner, and I believe it to be true, that Mr Jefferies of Thurleigh had my husband John Goss sworn to his habitation and removed him to Alconbury. i have not heard from my husband for about two years when I understood he was at Thurleigh. Annotated: The order of removal of Thomas Goss from Thurleigh to Alconbury dated 4 Dec 1820 by Dr Moore & Dr Hunt was produced to us this - day of Dec 1824. Unsigned.
