- Scope and ContentJohn Stairs: was employed as a pointer at a sale held by Flint in Woburn. A lot was sold to Joseph Parker that included garden shears. The shears were missing next day when the buyer came to collect the lot. Frank Flint: questioned Freeman who confessed to taking the shears as the believed he had a buyer for them. Sarah Baker: was asked by her parent to go to William Freeman and collect some shears. She found Freeman in a field and he told her to go to his mother's house to collect the shears. He told her to not be seen with them. Joseph Parker: purchased the lot at the auction, but when he returned for it, the shears could not be found. Thomas Field was present. Field said he knew nothing of the shears but helped in the search. William Ralph Young: Freeman told him he did take them home but was given them by Field. Field disagreed. Freeman later told him that Field bought a lot either side of the one contain the shears. On collecting the lots he told Freeman he may have the shears.
