- Scope and ContentJohn Vickars: noticed 2 iron washer and 2 lynch pins missing from the sheep hut owned by Edward Lawford. After enquiries he believed Jesse Sharp to have taken them. When challenged, Sharp did not deny it, but stated other boys were present. William Edwards: on charging Jesse Sharp, Sharp told him he had found the items on Mr Lawford’s land, whilst with Alfred Dickens and Thomas Smith. George Roberts: purchased the items from Jesse Sharp as old iron, for a penny. Statement of the accused - Jesse Sharpe: stated he picked them up on Mr Lawford's land, whilst there picking up bones. He sold them to George Roberts.
