- Scope and ContentCharles Hine: worked for Matthew Dancer. There were 2 sacks of barley meal in the barn when he locked it. Next morning he found 3 or 4 bushels gone. Matthew Dancer: agreed the meal was in the barn before it was missed. John Millard: visited the accused house and found the meal. The prisoner was confused and claimed to have bought the meal off old master Taylor, 3 months previous. He had bought more from Charles Mees which he had mixed with it. The sack had the name of William King, Offley Mill on it. James Taylor: sold the accused a sack of meal the previous September. The meal produced was not the meal that he had sold to him. Charles Mees: has sold barley meal to the accused previously in a sack saying William King Offley Mill.
