- Scope and ContentThomas Newman: stated he did not know that Williams had the half crowns until the came into Cranfield. Williams asked him if he wanted a beer and gave him half a crown to buy it. It was unknowing to him that they were bad or had not been found and it was dark when he gave them to him. John Williams: he found them and when paying nobody objected to them. He found them in Leighton in a privy. He did not know Newman before that day and gave him some, so as to change them.
