John Head Hooton of Kempston, farmer - last Monday night (September 2) a little after 11pm he was driving into Kempston in his gig. McCracken ran after him and asked him for a ride. He refused, and said if McCracken did not keep off he would punch him with his whip (but did not). McCracken then struck him on the forehead with a stick. George McCracken - says Hooton's evidence is false. He was at Wootton from about 7.30pm until 2am and not near Kempston. He thinks he was in the Cock at the time stated.
