    He is 31 years of age. When he was 14 was placed out apprentice by Indenture for seven years to Robert Elliott of St Bride, London, currier and assigned by him to Daniel Field, in the Stable yard Liberty of the Rolls, currier where he served the last two years of his apprenticeship. He worked as a currier in several places til January 1819 when he hired a house and premises at Battle in Sussex from Mr Charles Filcox at rent of 25 pounds a year. Lived there til Christmas 1820 and paid the rent and all parochial and other taxes. About the middle of May 1821 he hired a house and premises from Mr Benjamin Morris in All Saints, Lewes, Sussex by the year at a rate of ten pounds commencing 25 March 1821 and he lived there until 24 June 1822 and paid one year and a quarter rent and all parochial and other taxes except the last poor rate of three shillings. On 11 January 1814 married at St Paul, Bedford to Mary Thurnell by whom he has two children Ebenezer aged 6 and Elizabeth aged 17 months.
