    25 years of age. Born in Ridgmont where his father esided and belonged. At the age of nine he was placed out apprentice to John Bowers of St Paul, Bedford, chimney sweeper for 7 years. He thinks it was by Indenture because his Mistress told him so and would have given it up to him but she could not find it. He served the whole of his time with Mr Bowers in St Paul sand afterwards lived with him as a journeyman for about 19 weeks. He then went to London and let himself to - Case of Gloucester Street, Queens Square, St George, Bloomsbury, school agent as a footman at the wages of seven guineas. He continued in this service for a year and received wages only for the time he was there. He then lived with Samuel Cartwright at 6 Little Ormond Street, St George, Bloomsbury, dentist for about 8 or 9 months. Then with Daniel Stevenson in Great Guilford Street, St George, Bloomsbury as a footman for about the same period. Then to Benjamin Brooks of Bedford Row, Holborn at the wages of ten pounds. He went into that service at the latter end of Dec 1814 or beginning of January 1815 and continued there a full year receiving the whole years wages. Then let himself to Joshua Mayhew of Great Marlborough Street, St James, Westminster for a year as footman at wages of 12 guineas, he went into this service 12 January 1816 and continued the whole of that year and received his full wages, then let himself for a further year to Mr Mayhew for wages of fourteen pounds and continued until Nov 1817. Married on 21 September 1817 at St Giles, Middlesex to Elizabeth Sarah Buckingham by whom he has one son not baptised two years onld next May and an infant born 12 March 1821 in the House of Industry, Bedford.
