About 28 years of age. Born in Dublin. Left Dublin when he was about 16 and went to sea for three years then enlisted in the Royal Train of Artillery. Whilst employed in that service about five years ago in South America he had his leg shot off and was discharged on a pension. He then came to Bedford and made agreement with Mr William MacCreath of St Paul, tailor, to give him ten pounds to instruct him in the business of tailor and to serve him for two years without any remuneration of any kind. Served the whole of the two years in St Paul. There was no written agreement but a receipt for the ten pounds. Has since worked as a journeyman for John Woods , St Paul, Bedford. Yesterday married at St Paul, Bedford to Ann Sheffield.
