About 30 years of age, born at Daventry, Northamptonshire where his father belonged. When he was bout 13 he was placed out apprentice by his father to William Shepherd of Towcester, Northamptonshire, cooper by Indenture of seven years. Served the whole of his apprenticeship at Towcester. Then he went to sea and continued in that service until Oct 1815 when he hired a house and shop at Daventry at a rent of 7 pounds and paid the usual taxes and held about 6 months. Married at St Paul, Bedford this morning to Elizabeth Barnes.
