    Born at Wrestlingworth where father was a parishioner. Am now 54 years of age. Father died when he was 3 and he continued to live with his mother at Wrestlingworth until he was 14 when she bound him apprentice to Robert Gordge of St Mary, Bedford , tailor for seven years. Served the full term after which he was entitled and became a freeman of the Borough of Bedford. Then went to London and worked as a journeyman for two years then was pressed into the Navy and continued either in that service or out of England for about 26 years. Returned to England about 5 years ago and has worked at his trade where he could get employment. Twice married – first wife about 30 years ago by whom had 4 children – William, Robert, James, Henry all of whom have gained settlement in their own rights in Shoreditch, Middlesex. No children by present wife Mary who he married at St Pauls Church, Cork in August about 16 years ago. Unsigned.
