Deposition - Ephraim Wood, shopman to Mr Rogers, in case of George Maddams

On Sunday morning 13 January Ann Fennimore told him the house had been broken into. He went with Mr Rogers and Gibbons into the warehouse over the shop and saw a broken pane of glass in the window and a footmark on the sheeting below. On the Monday he found 3 pieces of broad cloth and a piece of kerseymere gone. He believes the stock produced to be one George Maddams used to wear. He does not know the cap. On Monday 18 February he found a piece of cloth in the ready made warehouse which had been torn. When the rollers were found he examined the stock of silk with Mr Rogers and many rolls were gone. He knows the 2 rollers produced to be rollers on which the silk was kept. He brought the rollers from Mr Belgrove's at Heath and Reach. He recognises the pattern of the handkerchief, which was given to him by Ryan, a hawker who lives at Heath and Reach. He believes it to be one stolen from Mr Rogers
