- Scope and ContentAbout 27 years of age. Born at Abingdon near Royston, Cambridgeshire where his father resided and was a parishioner. At about 15 years of age he let himself to William Clark of Guilden Morden, Cambridgeshire, farmer as a hired servant by the year. Continued with Mr Clark two years without interruption. Let himself to James Dickenson, farmer at Abingdon for a year and continued the whole year. In the beginning of the year 1811 his uncle Thomas Lester engaged him as bailiff to assist him in a farm he had taken at Ravensden. He lodged and boarded with his uncle at Ravensden and continued with him till the beginning of 1815 when his Uncle gave him £50 and they parted. Was married last Thursday at St Paul Bedford to Elizabeth Fox.
