- Scope and ContentAbout 52 years of age. Born at Ampthill where his father then resided but was a certificated man of the parish of Saint Paul, Bedford. Three weeks before Michaelmas 1778 at Huntingdon Statue this Examinant let himself for a year to Charles Beaumont of Hartford, Huntingdon, farmer at the wages of eight guineas. Served the whole year as ploughman and received his full wages. Then went in the army until July 1814. Worked as a labourer for several persons for about three weeks before Michaelmas 1815 when he let himself to Mr Robert Hulat of Oakley as a husbandry servant for a year at the wages of seven pounds. Was married last Tuesday at St Peter Martin, Bedford to Mary Simmons.
