- Scope and ContentComplaint that a returned convict by the name of Plowman, who it was believed had carried out numerous burglaries in the village and had been arrested the previous week at Ratliffe's expense with the aid of a Bow Street Officer named Ballard, had been allowed to escape from Bedford Jail without pursuit. Victims of burglaries said to include himself, Mr Penrose of Great Brickhill, surgeon, Revd Edward Jones of Great Brickhill, E Heighington of Woburn and Mr Bassett of Leighton.
