James Whitby, Samuel Jones and Thomas Balls, all of Billington, for stealing from the person of Joseph Mead one bank note worth £5, one sovereign worth 20s, 2 half sovereigns worth 20s, one half crown, 2 sixpences, 1 watch worth 30s, 1 knife worth 1s, 3 books worth 3s and 1 purse worth 6d. James Whitby previously convicted of felony on 17 October 1837. John Swepson of Maulden for receiving the moneys, goods and chattels aforesaid knowing them to have been stolen.
