Letter (Single Sheet, franked) from Richard Orlebar, Grande Rue, Dieppe to William Augustus Orlebar, Hinwick House. Asks again for account of Rent Day. Alexander returning to Woolwich local Doctor, Doctor Scott prescribing strict regime for Richard insists on South of France for winter. Intends to spend it at Tours Richard’s further leave of absence till November.

details of leasing farms “bind them legally to employ their quota of the poor”. asks whether Chambers estate sold; hopes by Michaelmas to be nearly clear of his debts. (b) from Maria Orlebar to William Augustus Orlebar. depressed by Richard Longuet Orlebar’s illness. (Constant irritation in chest) blooded and blistered on Sunday. Orlebars only have two sitting rooms. Richard husband better, habit not conquered yet Want Holloway to come out to be with them, to bring horse and equipment and Richard’s dog Pilot for the shooting. Children to have money taken from Northampton Savings Bank, to be paid to Praeds so can buy gold watches and chains – very handsome here.
