- Scope and ContentTranscript of a letter from Joseph Harrison to James Lightboun I am once againe desired by Mrs Stratton to write to you tho ideed agt my will for fear of being troublesome but the season advances apace & the Dung must be carried on the Land the Turnip Land must be forthwith plowed & it will be as the summer advances time to repair the Dovehouse will be quite Spoiled if something is not done to it which will be a very considerable damage to a tenant as also to the Landlord in regard of the dung that will arise from thence. I should not have been so troublesome in regard of your great business but can’t help it for Mrs Stratton is uneasy at her not hearing from you and I dare venture to say I am sure that she designes nothing on her part but to behave herself as an honest and respectfull tenant & don’t doubt to find you a good landlord. I send this by the Carriers man because he complained that his Master allowed him but a short time & he feared that the servants delayed him in carrying their message or did not deliver it right.
