    (I) Samuel Bailey of Southill gentleman. Thomas Heaton of Alton near Cheadle, Staffs, gentleman (ii) Henry Young of Bedford Esquire (iii) Thomas Wesley Turnley of same solicitor. Recites 16 February 1860 Mortgage: (i) Henry Young (ii) Sophia Brightman: for land near The Crescent in Bedford St Paul's, bounded North West by Hawes Street, north east by ground formerly of Thomas Gurney, then occupied by Dr Sheppee, part of South East by garden then occupied by Denn Young, south West garden of Captain Smith With buildings erected thereon as warehouses, but since converted into a dwelling house, a school and out offices. Recites also 30 June 1863 (i) John Henry Wagstaffe of 9 Sheldon Street, Bishops Road, Paddington, chemist and Charles William Wagstaffe of Cold Harbour Lane, Camberwell gentleman. (ii) Henry Young (iii) Samuel Bailey and Thomas Heaton, reciting will of Sophia Brightman, the Wagstaffes being executors. In consideration of £330 (£270 to be paid to (i) and £60 to (iii)) land from (iii) to (ii). - land in or adjoining Hawes Street, parish of Bedford St Paul, near to the Crescent containing north east side 63 feet 9 inches on the south east 118 feet 5 inches, south west side 64 feet 6 inches and north west side 121 feet including the wall on the north west. Bounded north west by Hawes Street, north east by late the representatives of Thomas Gurney and now of Philip Gowlett Nunn, south east by residue of piece of land before described in indenture of 1860 belonging to Henry Young and on south west by the garden of Admiral late Captain Smith with all buildings formerly used as warehouses but now and for many years past a dwelling house and school, the messuage and garden ground having been occupied by William Clough and the school with its outbuildings and a small part of the land used as yards being now occupied by Thomas Wesley Turnley. With all walls except that to the north east side adjoining the ground late of Thomas Gurney and now Philip Gowlett Nunn but with liberty for the said Thomas Wesley Turnley to nail or train fruit trees thereto so long as the said wall shall be standing and also except such parts of the wall on the South east side as lies within 18 inches on both sides of the buildings thereby conveyed partly built on such wall or adjoining thereto which are declared to be party walls.
