    … to wife Dorothy ….. all household goods, plate, china etc. for her own use and benefit ….. annuity of £150, chargeable on Goldington, devised in lieu of dower … to Lucy Higgins, wife of William Higgins, Irthlingborough, Northamptonshire, farmer, and Sophia Porter, wife of Charles Porter of Saffron Walden, Essex, maltster, his daughters ….. £2000 each … to daughters Dorothy, Caroline and Georgiana Palmer ….. £2700 each to be paid within 2 years after his decease, with 4% interest from date of his decease has entered into security with son-in-law said Charles Porter to Mr.Searle of Saffron Walden for £600 if said sum not repaid in his lifetime then to be deducted out of legacy to daughter Sophia Porter … to friends Charles Short, Bedford, surgeon, Thomas Street, Renhold, farmer, and Benjamin Jefferies, Great Barford, farmer, who are also appointed executors ….. all goods and personal estate in trust to convert into money to pay debts and legacies (as far as it will extend) ….. all cottages, farms etc. in trust to pay annuity to wife. Also by sale or mortgage to pay legacies to children also to pay £100 to daughter Eliza Palmer for life. On decease of said daughter Eliza, to raise £2000 for benefit of children of said daughter. If no children then to divide said sum among son John Palmer and daughters Lucy, Sophia, Dorothy, Caroline and Georgiana trustees have power to raise said sum of £2000 in Eliza’s lifetime, if they think fit all property not sold to be held in trust for son John Palmer … to each executor …...£50 power to appoint new trustees, 18 June 1823 With codicil sum payable to daughter Eliza Palmer to be £135 amount to be raised after her decease - £2700, 2 January 1824 testator died 13 August 1824 will proved (Bedford) 18 September 1824 sworn at under £2000 [see extract at SL1/238]
