    i) Reverend Edmund Harvey, clerk, Rector of Finningley, Nottinghamshire ii) Edward Ellis, Hertford , gentleman whereas: i) is seized of one undivided 1/3 part of land described and has agreed to sell it to ii) for £106 13s 4d now, in consideration of said sum i) releases to ii) 1/3 part of: - Cooke’s Close (2 acres) , in Broome, Southill N. Cooks Lane E. Broome Road S. Lord Ongley W. Rectory land formerly in occupations of Thomas Dun or William Cannon and now of Joseph James - land (3 acres 8 perches) in Hill Edge Field, Broome N. John Barber for tithes E. Old enclosures S. and part W. Lord Ongley remainder part W. Trustees of Southill parish charity estate which said last described piece of land was allotted to Elizabeth Harvey, deceased by enclosure Commissioners, formerly in occupation of Thomas Crute and afterwards of Edward Crute his son who occupied same for many years. Formerly known as Bancroft’s otherwise Close Ends now in occupation of said Joseph James which said 2 pieces land lie together and are known as Cook’s Close signatures both endorsed receipt witnesses Joshua Malden Philip Longmore
