    i) Right Honourable Robert Henley Ongley, Lord Ongley of Ireland (eldest son of Robert Henley Ongley, Lord Ongley, who was formerly Robert Henley and was 3rd son of Robert Henley late of St. Clement Danes, Middlesex, gentleman, deceased and of Jane his wife also deceased, who by reason of the determination & the failure of the estates created by will of Sir Samuel Ongley, late of London, knight, deceased, antecedent to the estate for life therein limited to him the said late Lord Ongley, became and was seized in possession for his life of the property herein after mentioned and intended to be hereby granted and released with the remainder thereof to the 1st and other sons in heir male successively) ii) Mordaunt Lawson Clennell, Staple’s Inn, London, gentleman iii) George Edwards, Henlow, esquire witnesseth that for barring etc. all estates tail and remainders etc. in manors and hereditaments hereinafter mentioned and for assuring and investing the absolute inheritance thereof in fee simple i) releases to ii) - capital messuage or mansion house of him, said Lord Longley, in which he now dwells, and all lands and appurtenances (202 acres) - Warden Warren (300 acres) in the possession of Lord Longley, together with summer house and other buildings erected on it - Farmhouse etc. late in occupation of Edward Inskipp and now of Robert Townsend - lands belonging (140 acres 2 roods 18 perches) - close meadow or pasture called Ashton’s Close now in occupation of Andrew Lane (5 acres) * - 2 closes arable – Barkers Closes (28 acres) now in occupation of Thomas Inskipp - cottage etc. in occupation of Thomas Let - cottage in occupation of Mary and Ann Wilshere - cottage etc. (1 acre) in occupation of George Watts - cottage etc. in occupation of William Barns ** - Public House “The Crown” etc. close arable (3 acres) in occupation of --- Bishop - cottage etc. (2 acres) in occupation of Overseers of Poor of Warden - cottage in occupation of John Bates - cottage (2 acres) in occupation of Samuel Mintle, carpenter - cottage in occupation of John Mardlin - cottage and pasture (4 acres 30 perches) in occupation of said George Watts - cottage etc. (1 acre 3 roods 3 perches) in occupation of Thomas Bygrove - 2 other cottages and 4 several closes (9 acres) now in occupation of John Bredsall - cottage in occupation of Sarah Chapman, widow - messuage (1 acre) in occupation of said Andrew Lane - cottage and blacksmith’s in occupation of Joseph Brillin - 2 other cottages in occupation of Charles Reynolds and Robert Ingram - cottage late in occupation of John Knight and now said Andrew Lane - cottage in occupation of Thomas Preston - cottage, dog kennel etc. in occupation of Thomas Spring - meadow or the first mow or cut thereof in Hill Meadow, Castle Meadow and Biggleswade (7 acres) in occupation of John How Allwhich before mentioned premises are in Old Warden - Manor or Lordship of Southill * - Manor or Lordship of Stanford otherwise Stamford Bury - capital messuage or Manor House called Stamford Bury otherwise Stamford Berry in Southill * Property later exchanged with Mr. Whitbread (see abstract) ** Later called the “Hare and Hounds” - Blewitt’s Hall etc. in Southill as now in occupation of John Peppercorn * - several closes belonging to either of same messuages (380 acres) in Stanford, Stamford Bury or Southill - 4 spinneys – Newhouse spinney, Shefford Mill spinney, Coxet Hill spinney and Shefford Bottom spinney (7 acres) in Stanford and Stamford Bury, now in possession Lord Ongley - farmhouse in Stanford, in occupation of Thomas Taylor - another farmhouse in same occupation - closes and pieces of enclosed and openfield land in parish fields and precincts of Stanford and Southill (321 acres 2 roods 20 perches) as are now in occupation of Thomas Taylor and belonging to either of 2 farms - site where Parsonage House formerly stood - ground adjoining (1 acre) - all tithes of Stanford and Stamford Bury being parcel of Rectory of Southill now in occupation of said Thomas Taylor, and glebe lands etc. in Stanford, parcel of said Rectory - meadow ground lying in a meadow in Stanford called Barley seed meadow (3 roods) E. John Brenchley and Co., brewers - tithes and tenths of Robert Lord Ongley, of aforesaid messuages, cottages, farms and lands etc. - messuage in Ludgate Street on south side, in parish of St Martin, Ludgate, London, in ward of Farringdon within, next adjoining to one other and now in the occupation of Messrs. Parish and Ranken,--- Tremaine and Messrs. Cooper, Smith and Husband - 2 messuages in Watling Street, on north side in parish of All Hallows, Bread Street, London, in occupation of John Rutherford and Robert Inman - 2 messuages adjoining to each other on north side of Threadneedle Street, one in occupation of Thomas Rogers in parish of St Martin Outwith, London, and other adjoining westward thereto in tenure of William Speakman in parish St Bennet Finck in ward of Broad Street, London, and also ground and soil on which said messuages are erected etc. - together with all edifices, lands etc. rights, courts Let and Baron, view of frankpledge etc. and all other manors, messuages etc. of said Lord Longley in counties of Bedford, Kent and London, whereof he is seized or entitled in tail under will of said Sir Samuel Ongley, deceased to said ii) to use of ii) to intent that ii) shall become perfect tenant of the immediate freehold in order that 3 or more common recoveries may be suffered against him, one for Bedfordshire, one for Kent and one for London property and iii) shall sue forth 3 writs of entry. signed . D Roe 8 and 9 Nov 1792 endorsed with memorandum that all Lord Ongley’s estates in Old Warden and Southill were, by indenture of 30 Aug 1824, charged with annual sum of £1200 to Frances, Lady Ongley, for life. 12 Jun 1830
