- Scope and ContentThank you for your letter dated the 26th March, from which I am pleased to note that you enjoyed the homeward voyage in the "Arcadia". With regard to your embarkation at Melbourne, having booked from Sydney, I am arranging for a cheque in settlement of refund of the difference in fares to be sent from our Head Office as soon as possible. I very much regret to learn that you had the misfortune to lose a pair of shoes on board and I acknowledge receipt of the Purser's Certificate to this effect. You will, of course, be aware that by the terms and conditions of the Company's Passage Ticket, which was accepted by you, we are exempt from any liability as regards loss or damage to baggage or effects however caused, and it is for this reason that passengers are advised to insure all of their baggage. I am, dear Sir, Yours faithfully, Passenger Manager.
